A Fula's Call
Having emerged from a musical project out of the 'Music World: Series - 'A Fula’s Call' subsequently hit the road with wheels spinning on tours in Holland, Ukraine, Moldavia, and Russia. Singer/guitarist Omar Ka with roots in the Niger and German flutist Mark Alban Lotz form the core of the creative collective that includes French guitar player Raphael Vanoli and Iranian percussionist Afra Mussawisade.
Omar Ka belongs to the West African nomadic tribe of the Fula. His lyrics speak of the life and culture of the nomadic tribe of the Fulani. German flautist Mark Alban Lotz gained international acclaim with a.o. his interpretations of Afro Cuban religious folklore. Afra Mussawisade is the most sought of percussionist in the West, guitar player Raphael Vanoli is a virtual sensation at the vital Amsterdam new music scene.
